Hi. I’m looking for folks to join my new band in Milwaukee. I’ve led original bands for years in Cincinnati, Albuquerque, and Chicago, and have released records that earned positive reviews. You can read more about that here if you’re interested.
A great bassist and lead guitarist are on board, so I’m looking for:
* a second guitarist (strong rhythm, lead ability is optional, acoustic and electric preferred)
* OR a keyboard player
A multi-instrumentalist is also welcome. Ideally, you can sing backing vocals as well. I’d love to add a woman’s voice to the mix, but I’m open to anyone who’s a great fit.
Musical Vibe: Wilco, R.E.M., Kathleen Edwards, Calexico, Elvis Costello, Hurray For The Riff Raff. A handful of my songs are instrumentals with room to stretch out.
You can hear some of my songs at Soundcloud to get a feel for the music. The last song is a demo so you can hear how I share new songs. On demos, the guitars, bass, and keys are just sketches — you’re welcome to come up with cool parts that fit your style.
I hope to find a bandmate who is experienced with original music, a good communicator, in tune with the kind of artists I mentioned above, and more interested in tone and chemistry than shredding.
Plans: Rehearsals will likely be weekly at first (near Jackson Park) and move to biweekly/as-needed as we move forward. We’ll gig 6-8x a year, with the occasional regional trip if it works. We’ll record when we’re ready.
